Opera Alley in Eureka the other day.

I shared the black and white image today at the Redwood Camera Club meeting and critique. The image is of the Rogue River in nearby Oregon.

An image from some years back that I reworked today. It is of a stretch of abandoned highway that is sometimes used for backcountry packers to get to a wonderful campground directly above the ocean. It is near Stone Lagoon in Humboldt County near Patrick’s Point State Park.

This evening.

Early morning light on the Alabama Hills and the eastside of the Sierra Nevada.

Burned down in 2001. See story at:

Over the coming days and perhaps weeks I will be posting images from my archives. I spent time photographing the areas around Humboldt Bay and the nearby cities of Eureka and Arcata. The imagary from 1980 through 2004 were either black and white negative film, or color slides. I scanned them to make “digital negatives” and processed them in Photoshop and Lightroom. Some of these are now in print form and on exhibit at The F Street Foto Gallery in Eureka. I hope you enjoy them.
