I took this photograph of the Bakersfield roundhouse and turntable on an early morning from a sand tower (I was a hostler that day). I do not know the date, but it was likely between 1975-1977. The roundhouse is, in part, still standing. The old water tank platform and tower is on the right adjacent to the crew dispatcher’s and RFE”s building. The yardmaster’s tower is behind that, and near the right/center is the brakeman’s shanty. There is some power waiting on the ready track. The wrecking train and hook are directly behind the roundhouse.
