ARRIVAL OF THE RINPOCHE AT MATHO GOMPA

In July 2008 I visited my goddaughter and her family in Ladakh or Little Tibet. My goddaughter’s father, Thupten, is an instructor of Buddhism a Thiksey Monastery, and he served as my personal guide as we visited more than a dozen monasteries (gompas). This series of photographs today are of the Rinpoche’s arrival at Matho Gompa. Matho Gompa is associated with the village of Matho which lies below the hill-top monastery.
